The 2021-2022 course selection tutorial video for 11th graders at LRHS.

Hi Liberty Ranch!  I hope you're doing well.   This is your 11th Grade Course Selection and I'm one of your Counselors, Mrs. Vitoria.  I'm going to be going through your Course Selection form that you'll be completing in your Advisory (with your teacher) over the weeks of December 14th through the 18th... and let's get started. Please select your incoming 11th Grade Students Courses for the upcoming 2021-2022 School Year.  Please reference your students Course Selection Worksheet that'll be given to you by your Advisory teacher that is supposed to be posted in your Advisory module.  So that should be posted in your Advisory module with your teacher, as well as all the videos, and worksheets, and things like that... that you might need while you're picking your classes.   If you have any questions, please call or email your students assigned school counselor... and the counselor's information is below.  So we have Mrs. Hays-Sanchez's information and she has last names A-G... and we have myself, Mrs. Vitoria, with the last names H - Z.   As you can see, Honors forms will not be required for the 2021-2022 school year and submission on this form can only occur once... So if you would like to make any changes to the form once you're done, please email your Counselor. Okay.  Let's get started. Please provide your 8-digit ID number. Number two. Please print your student's first name. So type that in... Number three.   Student's last name. We're doing good so far.  Number four.  What is your students Date of Birth? So you're going to put that in. Please select one English course.  There's four (4) options here and all of the courses are in our Course Catalog that you can reference... and that will be on our We are Liberty Ranch website, as well our district website, as well as your module with your teacher... So there's lots of options to find that course catalog... So let's pick a class. English III (3)... let's say III (3) Honors.   Once you select this course, just know that you cannot drop this course in the school year of 2021-2022, so make sure it's something that you want to do and make sure that you will stay in the course and complete the course. Please select one Social Science class... so History class... I have US History or an AP U.S. History so let's pick a course. Please select one Math course.  So there are 30 credits of math that are required for graduation, so three (3) years of Math.  Let's say that, because this is our Junior Course Selection, I took Integrated Math I my Freshmen year, Integrated Math II (2) my Junior or Sophomore year, and now I'm going to take Integrated Math III (3).  Let's say I already did my 3 years.  I will pick "I have completed my Math requirement (Opt Out)."   Okay, so but I have need to take Integrated Math III this year.  Please select one Science course.  So 30 credits is required... so 3 years... so I took Bio my Freshmen year, Sophomore year I took Chemistry, and this year let's say I want to take Human Anatomy.  Okay. So let's say we already taking those courses... Opt Out (three years). And number nine.  Please select one P.E. course.  You have to 20 credits of P.E. that is required for graduation... just two years of P.E.... so you must pick one or, if you've already completed those two years, you can put "I have completed PE" (which I have). So we're going to go on to the next course so... Please select a language other than English. So you are two (2) years of Foreign Language is required either Spanish, German, or Native Spanish... so let's say here that I took Spanish I and II (2) already and I don't want to go on with my Spanish any further.  I can put "I've completed my Spanish"... or maybe I want to take Spanish III.  Okay. Please select a Visual and Performing Arts. So let's say I already took an art... I can pick one if I'd like to take or maybe I already completed my VAPA but I wish to not take any more VAPA. Please select the number of courses needed to have a total of 8 courses.   So you kind of need to go back up... look at what you picked so far (we're going to count them out loud) so we got English, we got History (that's two), we got Math (that's 3), we got 4 (with Human Anatomy)... I did not take a P.E. class when I have 4 classes so far... I did pick a Foreign Language (so that's 5). I did not pick up that VAPA (so that's five total) and now I get to pick three (3)... because that equals 8, right.... so I'm going to pick maybe AG Power Mechanics, and maybe I'm going to pick AVID 11, and Leadership. As you can see, for Leadership there is a required application.... so there will either be a link in your module.  There will be definitely a link on the We are Liberty Ranch website or there'll be a link in the form... so make sure you check just to make sure you fill the application.  If you don't have an application filled out for the courses that are requiring an application, you will not be able to get in the class.  So make sure you do that.  Okay.  We're going to go to the next question... and even look up all this in the Course Catalog like we talked about... So make sure that you go to the We are Liberty Ranch website.  You can look.  They're going to have videos for each of these electives, as well as descriptions.  Okay. So. Number thirteen (13).  Please select only two alternates, so just-in-case courses. What are the courses just in case I don't get into those ones above?  I like that one and Internet Engineering... so we got two picked... and now... we're at the end.  Please let your Counselor know if you have any questions.  So let us know if you have any questions and you need to put your name (first and last name) and a personal phone number (so my cell phone number) and an email so that we can get a hold of you.  Okay.   So... And then an email... Okay.  So you are going to put that in so that we can have that and then... you push Submit.  Send me an email receipt of my responses (which you should click) so that you can have a copy of what you chose.  Okay.  So make sure you do that and you push Submit and then it will then go to your Counselor so that we can imput it in PowerSchool. Like I said, this is a one-time form... so once you push Submit you cannot go back to it.  So, you want to make changes later on, you to email your Counselor and let them know what changes need to be made on your form.   Okay.
