Hello.  My name is Mrs. Vitoria. I am a counselor at Liberty Ranch High School. Today we will be going through the 2021-2022 9th Grade Course Selection.  So as you follow along if you would like to have your Course Selection Sheet/Worksheet that is on the wearelibertyranch.com website as well as any other materials make sure you do so. I'm also going to be going through registration as well and I will read along, so.  Please select your incoming 9th Grade Student Courses for the upcoming 2021-2022 School Year.  Please reference your students Course Selection Worksheet that is available on our Liberty Ranch High School website.  If you have any questions, please or call or email your students assigned school counselor (and the information is below and we will go over that). Please complete the following online registration process for enrollment with Liberty Ranch High School.  So here are the directions to do your registration to be enrolled at Liberty Ranch.   This is the Course Selection sheet where you will pick your classes but know that if you are not registered with Liberty Ranch and gone these instructions and submitted to our Registrar Mrs. Cole these courses will not be inputted into our PowerSchool system where you will not have courses selected for your student.  If you have questions about this, Mrs. Cole—her email is here as long as her phone number which is right here 209-744-5325 And please go through these instructions thoroughly as well as here is the website. You can click on this link and it will take you to the registration form.   Okay. So our counselor information.  At Liberty Ranch we have two counselors.  We have Mrs. Hays-Sanchez.  She has the last names of students A through G and then her email and phone number are here and then there is me, Mrs. Vitoria. I have last names H through Z and my email is here as well as my phone number. So a couple things before we get started with the Course Selection. Due to current COVID-19 remote learning and the 2020-2021 school year, Liberty Ranch has decided that we will put all incoming 9th Graders into our Math Foundations class.  There will be an opportunity to test out of this class, so don't worry.  We will give you opportunities in Spring, possibly Summer to test out of the Math Foundations course. So, you have any questions about that please contact your counselor.  Okay, let's get started. Number one. Please print your students first name. So I'm going to put in my information. So you follow along with me. Number two.  Please print your students last name.  So I put that in there. Number three.  Please type in student's date of birth, month, date, and year.  So I'm going to put... Let's just put today's date 11-19-2020. Please select one English course.  So here we have English 1, English 1 Honors,  English Language Development 1, English Language Development 2, and English Fundamentals for our Special Ed students.  You will pick either English 1, English 1 Honors (unless you know what to do so on the other end) and you can look up these courses in our Course Catalog which is on the website, on the We are Liberty Ranch website, as well as our District website.  So, I'm going to pick one today. So, English 1. Please select one Math course—and like I said before, due to current circumstances we are replacing all 9th graders in Math Foundations, so you would pick here, Math Foundations.  Please select a Physical Education class.  So a P.E. class. We all have to have a P.E. class here. So there's only one selection for P.E. Number seven.  Please select your required Geography and Health class.  So, I put it here (that is the only selection for that)... and then please select one Life Science course.  So a Biology course... and if you don't know the difference between Biology and the Living Earth, or Biology in Sustainable Agriculture, you can look these up in the Course Catalog as well and go look at a description of the two.  Here is a quick description of one.   Biology and the Living Earth is our standard Biology that is offered on campus and our Biology and Sustainable Agriculture is in our Agriculture Program here on campus.  So they're just a little bit different, they have different aspects that they cover but same curriculum, both A through G, both four year ready for those.  So we are going to pick one today. Please select only three Electives.  So, because we picked a lot of core courses up here we get to pick three Electives.  So, I'm just going to pick some random ones.  For example, maybe Exploring Computer Science, Introduction to Agriculture Mechanics, and Art 1. So, if you can see here, there are a couple here that need an application (as can see here).  So, in the actual form that you will fill out, there will be a link next to these courses, and you will push on it, and it will take you to the form that you need to submit to the class (if you are interested in it, for example).  So make sure you only pick three (3) and then we'll go on... and like I said all these courses... If you have questions about these courses, there are videos for each of these courses, a description and a video from the teachers describing the course, as well as you have your Course Catalog also to reference.  So, if you have questions about these they're all on the We are Liberty Ranch website so you can get some more information on those.  Number ten. Please select only two alternate courses.  So just in case. So, let's say I just don't get into Art this year... I don't get into Exploring Computer Science... What are my second choices here?  So maybe it's AVID and let's say Floral Design... So I picked two alternates and then here—please let your counselor know if you have any questions.  Maybe I have questions about my Math Course or anything else... I could ask here. Can I schedule a Zoom to talk about courses... and then I put my information, put my phone number, and I put my E-mail address. Okay.  So, that I can get in contact with you, meaning Mrs. Hays Sanchez or myself can get in contact with you... and this is your personal stuff.  So this is your student's information, because down here you're going to put the Parent/Guardian information.  So parents... is parent's name, phone number, Email address.  So best contact information for parents... so that we can get a hold of you if we have any questions... and then you're going to hit Submit and you'll get a little note that says Thank You, Your response was submitted... and this will then go to the counselor so we can submit your courses—but like I said if your registration is not complete, you will not be able to have your courses in the system yet.  So make sure you get your registration complete and those dates of when that is due and is open is on the We are Liberty Ranch website, as well as the Galt Joint Union District website.
