We offer AVID 9, 10, 11, and 12
Our AVID teachers are Mrs. A Gonzalez (AVID Coordinator) and Mrs. K O'Laughlin
The ninth through twelfth grade AVID course is an elective class for students who are college bound. Students learn strategies to enhance success in their college prep courses. To ensure success in course work, students work individually, as well as in tutor-led groups. Note taking, outlining, writing, organization, speaking, reading, test-taking strategies, and self-awareness are stressed. In addition, the course includes college motivational activities, college and career awareness information. To be accepted to the course students must complete the application process. The AVID program is looking at students who have a minimum 2.0 GPA; Average Or Above, High Motivation; Positive Attitude and Parent Contract. Students who are interested should complete the student application by March 1. Potential students will be interviewed and notified if they are accepted or not to the program.
Congratulations to Alexandra Quezada and Anastasia Fuerte (not photographed) for winning the AVID Award! Thank you to Ms. Rowlison for presenting the award.
