Hello!  My name is Taylor Foster and I'm your student's AG Biology teacher this year, otherwise known as Biology and Sustainable Agriculture.  I am very excited to get this semester underway, get to know your student more.   With that being said, will give you a quick overview of our class. We focus primarily on the three ring model in the center of this slide here.  We have leadership and FFA.  It's through learning or through supervised Agriculture experience (SAE), and, at the top, Classroom / Laboratory Instruction. And fortunately we are able to give your student the opportunity to experience all three of these rings in Biology class, through something we like to call the three-ring model of AG Education.  With that being said, we're able to study, in Biology, a few different topics that you can see surrounding those three rings.   Everything from Agriscience, to Ecology, California AG, and Agricultural Practices & Environmental Sustainability, also Cell Structure and Cell Reproduction, Genetics and Heredity, Animal Systems, and much, much more than what is on this slide here.  We're able to discover all differrent types of AG and I'm looking foward to be able to share that expericence with your students.  They're also able participate in FFA and learn leadership skills and then they can apply back to their life later on.   And they can also take on a project called an SAE outside of class that relates to the AG Industry. With that being said, our grading policy also follows this category of classroom, FFA, and SAE. We can see the FFA makes up 10% of our grade.  SAE is also 10%.   We have weekly quizzes and also a midterm and final (probably worth 20% of our grade) and our class work is worth 30% as well as our labs and projects are also worth 30%.  So that makes up our entire grade for the semester.
